Includes 2 PNG and 2 PDF files in a Zipped Folder: 1 Chart Copy with Deities Colored by Archetype (i.e. Sun Gods, Sea Gods, etc), 1 Chart Copy in Grayscale Optimized for Black & White Printing, 1 PDF Norse Mythology Guide, and 1 PDF Lokean Guide.
Includes a 16-Page PDF guide written by Josh with detailed entries on the deities of the Norse Pantheon, packed with information on their lineages, archetypal characteristics, roles in stories, ritual practices, and comparative notes.
Also includes an 11-page PDF guide written by Josh, dedicated to patrons, initiates, devotees, or followers of Loki (Lokeans) within the broader context of Norse mythology, Heathenism, and Ásatrú. I, Joshua, am a Lokean, and I've been exploring the many different potential facets of Loki within Norse mythology, reconstructive practices, and in other comparative contexts, such as in Balto-Slavic, Pan-Celtic, and Greco-Roman mythologies and traditions. And I'd like to share these findings with you! I've written 3 chapters on 3 different aspects of Loki, with a final 4th chapter ritual guide for a prayer/divination sessions.
I (Joshua J Kes) am passionate about mythology and anthropology. I have a B.S. in Geography and Sociology; the study of places and people, respectively. I've been working on a database for comparative mythological studies for a few years now, and thought I'd put together some slick informative charts/posters of family trees for various pantheons.
I also produce YouTube videos on this subject @Sapienite1, with episodes on individual motifs and pantheons. If you like what you see, you may check them out for more details! Here's my video on the Norse Pantheon:

The aspect of Norse mythology that most fascinates me is the classification of different sub-pantheons within it: AEsir, Vanir, Jotunn, Elves, etc. To me, these represent different waves of migration and integration of different cultures. This pattern can be seen in many pantheons throughout the world that have evolved over time. The AEsir, for instance, tend to have a mix of largely Indo-European influenced deities, whereas the Vanir likely took after a less well-attested Neolithic influence.
Our methodology of comparison for mythological archetypes usually involves planetary or astrological associations, but this time, I used a simple coding system including 11 motifs/archetypes/codes, each color-coded and in order from left-to-right:
1. HEARTH - Fire, Blacksmithing, or Domestic Deities like Volund and Bestla.
2. EARTH - Earth, Fertility, or Wild Deities like Gertha and Sif.
3. SKY - Sky, Storm, or Messenger Deities like Thor and Hermodir.
4. WATER - Sea, River, or Wellspring Deities like Njord and Forseti.
5. CHTHONIC - Underworld Deities like Loki and Hel.
6. DAY - Sun or Light Deities like Sunna and Balder.
7. NIGHT - Moon, Night, or Dusk Deities like Odin and Mani.
8. LOVE- Dawn, Love, Muse, or Justice Deities like Freya and Bragi.
9. WAR - War or Fire Deities like Tyr.
10. DEMIGOD - Demigods or Heroes like Vali and Vidar.
11. MONSTER - Monsters or Spirits like Jormungandr and Fenrir.
